AETOR is the independent product-development practice of industrial designer and inventor Mike Asimakis, whose work spans tools, mechanical products, consumer hardware, soft goods, and IP-driven product development.

With a B.S. in Industrial Design and more than 15 years of hands-on development experience, Mike works from problem identification and early concept development through functional prototyping, CAD engineering, validation, DFM, supplier coordination, and production implementation. His work combines industrial design with mechanism development, technical drawings, materials and process specification, functional testing, product visualization, and direct collaboration with domestic and overseas manufacturing partners.

Before establishing AETOR, Mike served as Lead Product Developer / Industrial Designer at PDI Product Development Inc., where he led and supported development programs for brands including BESSEY, Crescent / GearWrench, and KREG, along with private-label and licensed product adaptations for Craftsman, CH Hanson, Rockler, and others. He later co-founded Armor Tool, serving as Director of Product Development and helping establish the company’s initial product family, product pipeline, and visual language.

Through AETOR, Mike has continued developing client and proprietary products, including BOW Products’ GuidePRO bandsaw guide and a patent-pending integrated multifunction tool designed to improve MIG welding quality and efficiency, advanced through multiple functional prototype generations and tooling readiness. His work has contributed to multiple issued and pending patents, industry awards, and product-recognition programs.
